We are excited to add a new Civil Rights Litigation Attorney to our team. Direct prior experience with police, prison, and/or jail civil rights work would be helpful, but is not necessary. Prior litigation experience is required. Additional requirements include:

Self-motivated, determined, and problem-solving mindset
Ability to work and manage a high-volume caseload
Licensed to practice law in Ohio and/or can waive into Ohio bar
Strong grasp on civil discovery process and procedure
Working knowledge of the criminal legal system, including police, prosecutorial, and incarceration practices and processes
Job Duties
Litigate civil rights cases through discovery and trial, including:
Develop meaningful relationships with clients, their families, and support networks
Investigate, evaluate, and build cases throughout litigation to achieve winning outcomes
Manage and conduct discovery and prepare cases for trial
Work with experts
Draft and contribute to briefs at all litigation stages
Prepare and argue motion hearings and appeals
Participate in trial teams
Contribute to a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion
Build relationships with community organizers and other stakeholders

Salary will be commensurate with experience, and we offer a generous benefits package including medical and dental insurance, employer 401(k) match and generous time off.
