Al Gerhardstein interviewed on podcast to highlight his history litigating for LGBTQ+ rights
Al Gerhardstein’s impressive history of fighting for LGBTQ+ rights is featured in the third season of Queer Intentions podcast.
FG+G partner Al Gerhardstein recently took part in an episode of the Queer Intentions podcast, hosted by Stephanie Kaiser. Their candid conversation covered Gerhardstein’s role in the landmark Obergefell v. Hodges case, the history of marriage equality, fundamental rights, and more.
Gerhardstein was lead counsel in Obergefell v. Hodges, the 2015 U.S. Supreme Court case that established marriage equality for same-sex couples in all 50 states. Kaiser was inspired to invite Gerhardstein to be a guest on the podcast after reading “Love Wins: The Lovers and Lawyers Who Fought the Landmark Case for Marriage Equality.” The book provides a definitive account of the people involved in Obergefell v. Hodges, including Gerhardstein and his pivotal role.
Currently in its third season, Queer Intentions explores the journeys of hosts Chris Lancaster and Stephanie Kaiser as they navigate the queer community as a gay man and a bisexual woman.
